The Application Performance Class is a performance standard defined by the SD Association (SDA) to evaluate a memory card’s capability in handling random read and write operations, particularly when running applications. This classification is especially relevant for devices requiring frequent small file access or embedded applications—such as smartphones or body cameras with operating systems.
1. Classification and Metrics
Currently, there are two primary application performance levels:
