Auto Activation
Automatic night vision activation refers to the infrared LED in a body camera turning on automatically under low-light conditions to enhance nighttime recording. This function operates by detecting ambient light levels. When the light is insufficient, the infrared LEDs activate automatically, emitting infrared light to illuminate the camera’s field of view, thereby improving the clarity and visibility of night-time images.
Working Principle
The automatic night vision activation function mainly relies on light detection technology. When the ambient light level drops below a certain threshold, the camera’s light sensor detects this change and sends a signal to the control system. The control system then activates the infrared LEDs, which start emitting infrared light. This invisible light cannot be seen by the human eye but is detected by the camera’s sensor, enabling it to capture clear images even in complete darkness.
The automatic activation process involves several key components:
- Light Sensor – Detects changes in ambient light. These sensors can be photodiodes or other types of photosensitive elements.
- Control System – Receives signals from the light sensor and determines whether to activate the infrared LEDs based on the preset threshold.
- Infrared LEDs – Emit infrared light under low-light conditions to illuminate the camera’s field of view.
