Firmware Upgrade Software Not Working
Overview
When users run our firmware upgrade software on Windows 11, the camera may become unresponsive after starting the upgrade, causing the process to fail.
Symptoms
- The camera does not respond after initiating the firmware upgrade.
Cause
This issue is caused by a problem with Windows installing the device driver:
- Windows fails to load the device driver for the hardware.
- Error Code 39 is displayed, indicating the driver may be corrupted or missing.
This problem is related to a new Windows 11 security feature called Memory Integrity, which can block certain drivers from loading.
Solution
Disable the Memory Integrity feature in Windows 11 by following these steps:
- Open Settings → Privacy & Security
- Select Windows Security → Device Security
- Click Core Isolation Details
- Turn off Memory Integrity
- Restart the computer
Notes
Error Code 39 is a common Windows device driver issue, meaning the OS cannot load the driver due to corruption or loss. Disabling Memory Integrity allows the driver to load properly, restoring normal firmware upgrade functionality.
