How to Use Holster Trigger
Function Overview
The Holster Trigger is an accessory designed to work with body cameras. It uses a sensor to detect when a firearm is drawn or holstered, automatically triggering the camera to start or stop recording. Compared to manual operation, this method is more efficient and ensures that critical footage is captured during urgent situations.
Working Principle
The Holster Trigger contains an internal sensor. When the officer draws the firearm, the trigger signal is sent via Bluetooth to the body camera, which immediately starts recording.
Activation and Pairing Steps
- Enable Bluetooth: On the body camera, open the Bluetooth On mode via the settings menu or using the Cam Manager software.
- Function Test: Draw the firearm to confirm that recording is automatically triggered and stops or resumes upon holstering.
- Note: Other metal objects can be used for testing. Detaching the Holster Trigger from a metal object will also automatically trigger camera recording.
Usage Scenarios
- Officer Safety: Ensures that recording begins immediately when a firearm is drawn, preventing loss of critical evidence.
- Automated Operation: Reduces the need for manual camera operation, allowing officers to focus on the situation.
