ONVIF Integration Guide
ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open standard protocol designed to enable interoperability between IP-based security devices and video management systems (VMS).
Through ONVIF, cameras from different manufacturers can be integrated into third-party VMS platforms for functions such as video streaming, audio transmission, device management, and event communication.
For camera and VMS integration, the commonly used ONVIF profiles include Profile S, Profile T, and Profile G.
Profile S — Video Streaming
Profile S is the basic ONVIF profile for IP camera video streaming.
It is mainly used for:
- Live video streaming
- Audio transmission
- Basic camera configuration
- VMS integration
It is widely supported by most ONVIF-compatible monitoring platforms.
Profile T — Advanced Video Streaming
Profile T is an advanced video streaming profile designed for modern IP video systems.
It supports:
- H.264 / H.265 video streaming
- Audio streaming
- Advanced video configuration
- Event-related functions
Compared with Profile S, Profile T provides better support for high-quality and advanced video applications.
Profile G — Video Storage and Playback
Profile G focuses on video recording and playback management.
It supports:
- Recording configuration
- Video search
- Playback control
- Recorded video access
It is commonly used for integration with NVR and video evidence management systems.
ONVIF Support in Shelleyes Body Camera
The S9 Body Camera series supports ONVIF protocol integration.
All S9 models can be integrated with ONVIF-compatible VMS platforms.
The camera uses ONVIF Profile S / Profile T-based streaming services to provide video and audio transmission to third-party platforms.
To enable ONVIF functionality, the camera requires installation and activation of the MCP application.
After MCP activation, the camera can operate as an ONVIF Server.
Enable ONVIF Server on S9 Body Camera
Step 1: Activate MCP Application
Install and activate the MCP application on the S9 body camera.
After successful activation, the ONVIF server function becomes available.
Step 2: Enable ONVIF Server
On the camera interface:


After enabling the ONVIF server, the camera can be discovered and accessed by ONVIF-compatible VMS platforms.
Add S9 Body Camera to ONVIF VMS
The following example uses Happytime ONVIF Client in a local network environment.

When adding the ONVIF camera, use the following information:

After completing the configuration, the VMS platform can establish communication with the camera.
Supported Functions After Integration
After successful ONVIF integration, the VMS platform can obtain:

- Audio streaming
- Camera status information
Note:
Some VMS platforms require manually enabling the audio channel after adding the ONVIF device.
