1. Impact of Night Vision on Power Consumption

Night vision mainly relies on infrared (IR) lamps to provide an invisible light source, enabling the camera to capture images in darkness. When night vision is activated, the IR lamps begin to operate, resulting in additional power consumption.

  • Typical Power Consumption Range: When night vision is enabled on Shelleyes body cameras, the additional power consumption is approximately 0.6W to 0.8W. This range is considered energy-efficient in the industry and helps maximize battery life while ensuring night vision effectiveness.

2. Relationship Between Number of Infrared Lamps and Power Consumption

Different Shelleyes body camera models are equipped with varying numbers of infrared lamps:

  • Both the S7 and S8 provide night vision functionality, with configurations of 2 and 8 infrared lamps, respectively.
