Troubleshooting suggestions when there is no sound during intercom
1. Check the Microphone and Speaker Functionality
• Ensure the body camera’s microphone is not blocked or damaged.
• Play a local video on the device to verify if the speaker is functioning properly.
2. Headset Connection (e.g., S7 model)
• If a headset is connected, make sure it has a built-in microphone and is working correctly.
• Try unplugging the headset and using the intercom function again to rule out headset compatibility issues.
3. Check Volume Settings
• Verify via Cam Manager or the device menu that the speaker volume is turned on and not muted.
II. CMSV Client-Side Troubleshooting
4. Confirm Intercom Permission in CMSV
• The currently logged-in user must have intercom privileges.
• Permissions can be assigned by an administrator in the user access management settings.
5. Verify Microphone and Speaker Recognition by the Operating System
• Ensure the computer running CMSV has a working microphone and speaker.
• Test microphone input and speaker output in the system audio settings.
6. Check Network Connectivity
• Intercom requires real-time audio transmission, so stable connectivity between the device and CMSV client is essential.(Not RF transmission.)
• Network latency or packet loss may degrade audio quality or interrupt the intercom session.
III. Practical Recommendations
• Try intercom using another computer or another body camera to isolate whether the issue is with the device or the software.
• Use Windows “Voice Recorder” and “Sound Settings” to test if the local microphone is functional.
